Unfinished Business for 2014. What's on your list?
I actually managed to get a ton of shit done this year. Buuut…
It's looking like my foot won't be taken care of this year. I got myself diagnosed with a bone spur in my heel, had some steroid injections, but the 'permanent' fix, orthotics, is still on order. But hey, I did my end of things.
Still haven't written and recorded a full song yet, though I've put up several instrumentals so far this year (plus some shorter loops to use in my workshops). Maybe over the holidays, I can write and record a shitty song. Maybe I'll even call it, "This is a Shitty Song."
I haven't built any games this year, either. I should devote some more time to that. I suppose I've given up (at least for the time being) on writing a novel, but it would still be cool to be able to point to a thing and say: I did that. I made it. Been working on my programming skills, so by inches, I guess.
The biggest thing is whatever the fuck is going on with the local witchery community/coven. There has been faults on my side and what I think are faults on their side. At this point, I'm basically slow fading out from them (and am pretty much done with all of those people) because they aren't making the time to do any of my stuff. (I had my Council meeting in late December 2013 and did my assignments by the dates they were due and then...nothing.) My sponsor hasn't exactly been the most communicative either, but I do take some part of the blame for being antisocial.
It doesn't help that they often do stuff on Sundays which is when I'm the only one in the office and so can't easily get out of work.
-Paint the living room, so we can hang photo wall
-Paint the hallway (SO MUCH DAMN TRIM), so it doesn't look grimy
-Plan February vacation somewhere warm and tropical. I wish "warm and tropical" in February wasn't so expensive.
I really wanted to get around to painting our bedroom and getting new curtains and bedding. I wanted to sew more than I did. Neither of these things prevent me from feeling like 2014 was a good and full and well-lived year. I'll just add it to the 2015 list.
Get my garden landscaped. It has an uneven patio and a raised bed of shrubs at the end which is full of rocks. I want a really nice patio garden but keep putting off getting someone round to look at it.
I didn't really make a list specific to this year, so I still have the same things I never seem to get to, like painting the living room and several yard work projects and a lot of decluttering and a lot of books to read. I was hoping to have broken through writer's block by now, but that hasn't happened.
