Friday question from the Book of Questions Do you have much impact on the lives of the people you come in contact with? And can you think of someone who, over a short period of time, significantly influenced your life?

1. Yes. For good or ill.

2. Yes, many. To name a few: two professors in college, two more in law school, many work role models and mentors, and my Bear.

1. Yes, because I have the power to decide if people ultimately end up losing their homes or businesses.

2. At my first ever AA meeting 16 years ago I heard a woman say something that convinced me I was in the right place, despite my reluctance to accept the reality of my situation. It changed my life.

Of course yes to both. Unless you never pay attention to or interact with other people or evidence of people, how is it otherwise?

I never get these questions.

1. For some people, yes. I sometimes make decisions that mean someone's business gets shut down or otherwise negatively impacted.

2. Don't know about a short period of time, but I think not.
