These photos are seductive. I loved the city back in the day. San Francisco is shrouded in nostalgia. The residents are proprietary, and no matter the era, they'll tell you that it was better "back then," before you came.

Back when Sutro was....back when you could help the brakeman turn the cable car...Irish coffee at the Cliff House, watching the seals...along Clement, for the food....
