I think referring to her as a 'lady' is generous in the extreme. What an entitled, irrational, selfish cow.

I thought her irritation at driving around only to be faced with the problem based on incorrect information is understandable. But yeah when she started talking about how her plan was to do an exchange I was a bit mystified. There is no way that her cost savings with the exchange would have made up for the length she went through (calling all the stores for days, driving around..) Apparently she also bought the candles she was going to exchange at sale price and wanted to get the full priced new ones in return.

Also I just saw this mildly amusing dramatization of the interaction.

That was pretty amusing. It made me want to see several versions, each from a different person's perspective.

I think some mild irritation is understandable, but this reaction is out of proportion.

It would seem that this would be the most favorable (to the "lady") version of the incident, and I very thoroughly hate her guts. I can easily imagine what the people at the store thought of this basket case.

YEah, that's kind of why I would like to see it the way Jen and the assistant, and maybe also Angela's mother, would tell it.
