1. Find somewhere to live
2. Pack all the things up
3. Get rid of all the things I don't want to pack
4. Organise Internet at new house (might need some power and stuff too, I guess)
5. Move all the things.
1. Grade 3 Quizzes (that's about 90 papers).
2. Revise/print new quiz (reboot damn network that keeps going out for wireless printer -- never buy cisco, never again).
3. Order groceries.
4. Pay bills/renew car registration (online, thank goodness).
5. Cook (I'm thinking chili).
6. Put laundry away (thank you, my loving hubby, for doing laundry).
7. Write lesson plans for Monday.
8. If I have the energy, write a DonorsChoose grant or two and send out some poems for consideration in literary journals.
And I'd really like to fit in writing, walking on my treadmill, and playing my new guitar that continues to languish in its case. (Jon now calls the treadmill "that giant paperweight in the middle of our living room" -- meh). Why do the things we care about most never seem to make it onto the list?
I think I need a nap from my list. And I'm sure I'm missing something--
1. Find halloween costume for kidlet
2. Find something for kidlet & me to wear for our family pics next weekend
3. Get a replacement key made for the car at the dealearship (stupid special keys ... at least it's only $23 vs $50+ I was expecting)
4. Finish mods to the new tv stand
5. Set up all the crap for the new flat panel tv (we're finally joining the 21st century)
And at some point in the dispose of old heavy picture tube tv
Well, it's less than half the size of the house I just sold, is startlingly close to neighbours (after seven years of living on acreage, I'll have to remember to close the blinds when getting dressed and tone down my loud music habits) and has typical '90s orange decor. But it's massively more convenient in location, has access to a huge shared pool, gym and sauna, involves less than half the housework and lawn-mowing is included in the rent (anyone want to buy a ride-on mower?), so I'm pretty OK with it. Not sure what I'll do with my weekends now, though ;-)
