jonmc, what's going on at The Strand?

Around 4:00pm, everybody at the registers (customers and employees started coughing). One guy coughed so bad, we called 911. They evacuated the store. It smelled and felt like pepper spray, but I can't be sure. We were on the street for about an hour, then they let us back in. There's pics on my flickr.

In my time in NYC, I've struggled through blackouts, transit strikes, hurricanes, murders in the neighborhood and now mysterious gas incidents.

To quote Denis Leary, this city makes Disneyland look like a fuckin' bike ride.
