Sunday 3-point update - what's going on in your life? [More:]
1. After my bout of flu, I'm back at Bikram and have been 4 times this past week. I'm seeing progress by teeny, tiny increments. But the standing-head-to-knee pose will probably always elude me.

2. At the back of a kitchen cupboard I found a tupperware full of Indian spices, whole seeds and pieces of bark, cloves, black cardamom, fenugreek, etc. I remember buying them in a big bag from an Indian store and then forgot about them. So I made the most fragrant vegetable curry I've ever cooked yesterday. I don't know if I'll ever go back to using 'curry powder' again.

3. Driving through the forest this morning, in broad daylight a small herd of deer, about 12-15 in total, crossed the road in front of me. It looked like a group of does with their young (no tiny ones, but no big stags either). It made me smile for the next 10 miles.
1. I'm currently at work and getting ready to do some sewing on my new silver bra. I'm currently putting the side panels together.

2. Next month is going to be super full of dancing. I am so not prepared at all for any of it though, heh.

3. I shouldn't go to the grocery store tonight after work for snacks, but I'm feeling like I might need to get some snacky foods that are actually somewhat healthy instead of ordering pizza like I am thinking about.

1. Just bought some books on being a big brother and using the potty on Amazon. Neither is happening for O soon, but I figure it's good to plant the seed.

2. Roast in the crockpot for dinner. Mmmmmm, meat.

3. It's naptime for O, why am I not napping too??? A waste of a quiet Sunday afternoon!

What books, TPS? Didn't even think of that for my son and he's going to be a big brother in a few weeks! Toilet training, unfortunately, is also still a ways off for him.

1. Feeling like an absolute whale. I really hope I can lose two babies worth of weight after this one is born. And it definitely doesn't help my insecurity to have a husband who is in perfect shape. Jerk.

2. Exhausted, anxious, hormonal, missing my mom.

3. But also feeling ridiculously lucky for all that I have.

1. My back yard fence is falling down, one piece at a time. It will cost serious $$ to fix, I'm sure. *sigh*

2. Been doing a lot of reading and playing the records I've bought at Goodwill over the last year or so.

3. Cold nasty weather makes it difficult to marshal my enthusiasm.

I got:

Potty
My Big Boy Potty
I'm a Big Brother
My New Baby

I looked for books that looked simple and short.

1. Still basking in my wonderful birthday festivities from yesterday -- Bloody Mary, pancakes and bacon for breakfast, followed by book shopping and shoe shopping, and a friend's 40th birthday party, which she graciously shared with me (though on the number line, I'm to the right of 40) and which featured lobster mac and cheese. MMMMMMMMM

2. Today was a day of staying in bed longer than I should have, laundry, light cleaning, and catching up on reading and TV.

3. I'm trying to drink more water. Yesterday I pinched the skin on the back of my hand and was kind of horrified to see that it stood up for several seconds before sinking back into place. Yikes!

1. Just got back from the EbertFest film festival. Got to see both Oliver Stone and Spike Lee in person but the highlight of the festival was probably the film Wadjda which is just amazing and heartbreaking.

2. Had to drive eight hours back from Champaign this afternoon/evening which was uneventful but boring. Illinois, Indiana and Ohio are just astoundingly flat states.

3. Very happy that my back is healed enough that I was able to handle both the drives and sitting in a theater for four days. I'm not cured yet but in much better shape than I've been in for a year.

1. Drove about 90 miles south today to Glide to go to a wild plant show. A nice day, with mixed sun and rain showers over green hills. Very pretty part of the world, I live in. Like the rest of you.

2. Posted my first ever music video in YouTube. (Self-link)

3. Tomorrow. . .early volleyball then 9:00 HIIT workout.

1. Jealous of the young danf who still gets to play volleyball.
2. Talked depressed son into being angry instead.
3. Jury duty starts tomorrow.

Ask me next week (maybe). Right now, it's a secret.

It was Kings Day last saturday. For me that meant hanging out with friends dressed in orange and drinking a beer.
In Amsterdam it's also very much an occasion to hang out on the canals. As this time loop shows.

Hah, that video is great. It looks like bumper cars at an amusement park.
posted by JanetLand 28 April | 12:17
Yeah. Probably it's people trying to get into one of the really central canals.
