I heard a good story on NPR tonight about another country's TV holiday tradition - a movie that's shown at New Year in Russia, called The Irony of Fate. IT sounded kind of good.

Ha. I can imagine that it's strange to see the appropriation of something British by a wholy different language world. :-)

Especially with the German synchronisation. I grew up with hearing a lot of German. So I think that for me the language is more familiar and positive than for others. But in spite of that hearing German speaking american or british actors is absurd. Hände hoch mister! (=Humphrey Bogart saying 'Stick 'em up mister!
