The latest twists are that health insurance limitations mean that the owner soon has to retire this dog . . . but that internet contributions are apparently going to cover that gap for him.

It is all rather heartwarming.

Even happier news: if Cecil can't, the original family that raised this dog will be delighted to take him back. And if Cecil doesn't need all the money being raised, it will go to help other blind people get dogs.

And also I've been donating to Guiding Eyes for years and I am pretty pleased to see them in the middle of this story.
