Any opinions on the rediscovered 'Stoner' by John Wiliams? It has been huge here in NL and it's slowly coming to the UK and perhaps US in the end.

I've read the first two chapters but unfortunately the charm escapes me.

I'll probably read it. I didn't reach much of the Guardian article you linked to, as it gave away a lot of the plot and I hate it when that happens. I like to discover a book for myself.
