From Professor to Fashion Model. I generally think it's disgusting when companies use an unrelated photo of a long-dead person to push their products, but the guy's son doesn't seem to really mind, and writes some great stuff about his literary parents.
I saw that a few weeks ago, maybe linked on aldaily? I thought it was really interesting. For some reason the advertising use of this photo seems very tasteful, appropriate, and respectful ... and I was just left thinking "how cool that the guy was caught in such a joyful picture and how nice for his family to have that photo to remember him by."

This seems like a counter example to the "all advertising is bad" school of thought. This seems silly and fun to me.

Thanks for this. It seems an antidote to the hideous holiday season.
