I has a deep sad...→[More:]I learned today that my best buddy, escort kitty and general all-around mate for the past 12 years, Fritz, has cancer, and will not likely be around next summer. I can't stop tearing up. This sucks, folks.
So sorry. Sometimes I think that it's harder to lose a pet than a person. At least people can tell you how they feel and you can tell them how much you love them. Losing my cat Ursa was one of the hardest things I've went through, seven years later and I still miss her.

pjern, I'm so sorry. Your cat looks a little bit like my Sadie, who went from us fast. I am glad you will have some time to spoil and love Fritz and make sure he is comfortable. He is lucky to have you and he can trust you. I hope you have some loving times ahead.
I'm so sorry to hear this. But remember, Fritz doesn't know he has cancer, and he'll be happy to live out the rest of his days with you oblivious to what's going on. And you'll know - because Fritz will make sure you know (cats do that) - when the time has come for you to let him go. But for now, love him, pet him, spoil him.
I'm so sorry, pjern. :( He really is quite the handsome fellow. msali is right: he WILL always be in your heart. Losing pets is so hard! Enjoy him & love him.
You cannot ever replace him, but you can make his going as easy as possible. And someday after that some lucky, lucky feline may know a place in a different part of your heart.
