There's a $5.00 manual typewriter at a local thrift shop. A few of the keys don't work but with a little tinkering I bet it could be made functional. The thought of buying it and fixing it up has been buzzing around in my mind the past couple weeks. My typewritten missives would hardly be so uplifting but maybe I could sell them to the emo crowd.
I passed this on to my nephew who is trying to break into the live spray-painter scene at Southern flea markets. I figure he could do up a bunch of these to sell on the side.
WOW
I guess it is true that people aren't really buying their own printers anymore and just moving to cloud storage, so having a typed piece of paper is getting rarer, but dude.
Husband and I bought a typewriter a year or so ago and he gets a kick out of making signs for the building and writing me notes on it. It is fun to play with. But the output? Can't you just use a typewriter font on a computer and print it at kinkos?
