Wow, now I'm extra excited to watch. Especially because you didn't spoiler who gets cut! Though I can imagine (and I don't mind spoilers, anyway).

What kind of person irons ratty demin cut off shorts?

I just caught up on this. I'm so relieved that the designer who thought they were going home was saved. But I wish the 'signature' dress had won rather than the more obvious choice. Clearly the designers whose models were tall and slim had the advantage over those with the curvacious, short models.
