Basebrawl 2013 -- Professional Wrestling at Coney Island It's Friday night. I get off work. I'm thinking to myself that I've two choices for the evening. I can watch a Jean Cocteau film at an arthouse theater or head to Coney Island and watch a bunch of fat dudes beat the sh*t out of each other. Being a classy and refined fellow, I picked Coney Island. The pictures are in the link.

In MCU park! Awesome. Love that place. Wish I could get out for a Cyclones game but they don't play afternoons on weekends and night games are too late for us.

Pretty cool.

I looked up Coney Islandd on Streetview. Being all enthousiastic about the Dutch roots of the name as Rabbit Island.
I don't know what I expected. Maybe something more magical.

How do people play night games? Do they wake up at 4 in the afternoon? Or is it just that they're young so they don't distinguish between day and night?

Night games are only at 6 or 7; too late for us due to the baby. I imagine its not too hard playing that late. Certainly better than playing in the hot sun! Today is a scorcher, I heard it feels like 105 out.

In the pros, the night games are at 7 local time, but (fr'instance) the Sox are playing on the West Coast this week, meaning their games have not been starting 'til 10 our time. We gave up at midnight last night and glad we did, as it went to 11 innings and didn't wrap up until 2:30 locally. I imagine all the time switching is a little rough, but they are used to late nights anyway.

Actually today's Cyclones game started at 5 and was done around 7:30, but what with getting home and all that's still late for a little tyke. Great ballpark!
