Photo Friday: Nostalgia.
Raleigh three speed! I miss mine. Do roller lever brakes work as well as caliper brakes, Doohickie?

Senyar, what is the empty restaurant? How did you find yourself there?

The empty restaurant is Manze's Pie & Mash Shop in Walthamstow High Street. Jason and I visited it when he came over a few years ago. We got there at the end of the lunch service, so it was pretty quiet while we ate.

The Pie and Mash Shop is a big East End tradition. They also serve eels, which are stewed or jellied. I have to say jellied eels are the most disgusting food on the planet.

Manze's is a particularly nice example of the old, traditional style, pie & mash place, with the original tile and the wooden booths from the turn of the century.
