Today, you shall make a Lassi.
1. Find some yogurt and water and your nearest blender or shaker (or get ready to stir vigorously)[More:]
2. Put in an amount of yogurt
3. Put in a touch of milk if you'd like--not to much
4. Put in water equivalent to the amount of yogurt
5. Add sugar/salt/spices to taste
6. Blend it

Report back about how it worked out
I don't have any yoghurt, otherwise I'd make this. I love mango lassi, and usually order it when I have Indian food because the yoghurt tempers the heat of the curry spices.

for some reason a couple days ago I was struck by the realization that one could make this at home. Such an amazing thing and so simple. The Delhi Summer is getting into its truly "oppressive" mode and I'm finding out that there's so much you can do to avoid drinking soft drinks. The other trick I started doing a couple weeks ago is to infuse a pitcher of water with some fruit. It's simple but you just have to be careful to pick the right kinda fruit combinations. So far the best has been apple slices

Something really interesting I've been noticing with juicing fruits and drinking fruit infused water etc is that it really tastes unmistakably different on different parts of your tongue unlike packaged beverages.

Thanks Firas! This will get filed with my chai recipe. Also a good reason to restock on cardamom. Senyar, I use lassi for much the same reason!

Which spices do you use?

I just added a touch of sugar. But I think people here like adding salt and stuff that's kinda... I don't know how to describe this... kinda salty with a kick, almost sour.

you know how in some Chinese etc flavors there's this concept of hot and sour. I think in a lot of Indian stuff there's a notion of sweet and sour. I am very vaguely guessing though don't quote me on this.

I have yogurt, but it's goat's milk. I hope that doesn't negatively affect the recipe.
