lol I'd never heard We're A Happy Family before today. That song starts off and well, that degenerates quickly

The first four albums are absolutely essential. The other favorite album for me is 1984's Too Tough to Die, but that's probably more of a personal sentimental favorite since it was the first tour I saw them on.

Here are a few personal faves I'd point you to:

I Just Want to have Something to Do (from their 4th album, 1980's Road to Ruin) - One of my ten all time favorite songs, this is the version from Rock and Roll High School

I Wanna Be Sedated (another one from Road to Ruin) - For me this is one of the definitive Ramones songs that captures everything I love about them: a killer chorus, goofy lyrics, all around goofy Summer fun

Teenage Labotomy (from the third album, 1978's Rocket to Russia) - This is a live version of another definitive version that sums the band up for me.

Howling at the Moon (from 1984's Too Tough to Die) - A striaght out accessible pop song that at the time seemed out of place at the time, but now it just sounds like classic Ramones. The radio friendliness of this song was even weirder since most of the album is harder than anything else they had done. Even though I saw them tour the other albums, this was the last Ramones album that I love start to finish. Evertyhing afterwards got a bit too spotty for me.

Outsider (from 1983's Subterranean Jungle) - Supercharged power pop. This was the first Ramones album I bought as a new release, so it also has that sentimental appeal for me. I think I threw this song on every mix tape I made that year.

Have fun digging into the Ramones catalog. There's a lot to love.
