It's May and thoughts are turning to Summer. What do you fancy beasts have on your calendars?→[More:]My Summer plans as best I can tell:

- Leave a week from tomorrow for Florida to visit my sister and get some forced downtime on Cape San Blas, which has beautiful, quiet beaches. Drink beer, read books, sleep.

- June 4, Gogol Bordello at the historic Cain's Ballroom

- June 21-23, road trip to St. Louis, catching the Rangers/Cardinals game that Saturday, and hitting up Vintage Vinyl. General other hanging out because I can't take time off of work unless I leave town.

- End of July/first of August - Finish my time at both jobs. One forever. I may wind up working at the clinic more during Xmas break or next Summer, but that's unknown at the moment.

- Early August - Move to Stillwater. Probably begin to panic

- Orientation for V-school starts August 12. First day of class is Aug 19. Brace self for shit getting really real and going to school F/T for the first time since 2001.

I'm really looking forward to it. Hoping it'll be a lot of fun.

So much!

Memorial Day Weekend: Ocean City, NJ. Beginning to figure out how we're going to get there; with a baby and no car, it's honestly a PITA. Renting a Zipcar for the long weekend is almost $600 which is way more than I want to pay, so we will probably take a bus/cab combination. This might mean I have to schlep the car seat, another thing that's a PITA.
June 9th: Tony Awards on TV!!! I have a good friend in "Matilda"; hopefully I will be able to see him perform.
End of June: Sister is tentatively planning to visit, we take another trip to Ocean City to see my extended family.
End of July: NYC to Canada cruise with Stynxno's family.
Mid-August: Oliver & I go to Florida for a few days on the gulf shore with my family.

Forget to mention, baby turns 1 July 12th! Will figure out what sort of celebration there will be once we figure out where and when we're moving (lease is up here June 30; hoping to move to Stynxno's school campus in June).

Memorial weekend I am getting old. Then the week of June 10th Siesta Key Florida for some margaritas and sunburns. In July we have a cabin and double decker pontoon boat rented for a bit of summer madness. Hoping to plan a trip to Boston to bum around for a few days and Denver before summer is over too.

This weekend: 5k with two of my sisters.

Next weekend: Shimmy Mob in Baltimore (Federal Hill Park at 1pm).

Memorial Day weekend: going camping with my homie to Folkfest in Sterling, NY.

June: Extravadance recital.

July: Statemeet/StateCon with people from statements on LJ.

August: String Fling with my homie in Sterling, NY. Delmarva Pagan Pride Day.

Memorial Day Weekend: drive down to see my family & celebrate my paternal grandfather's 80th birthday

early July: maternity leave over so back to work I go :(

early August: possibly a trip to DE to see relatives

My sister's coming to visit in mid-July. In September I have a 3-day hiking trip planned in Virginia, so I guess before then I'll be doing some hiking locally to get in better shape for that, if I can make myself go (I hate hiking alone). I hope I can get to Florida sometime this summer to see my mother -- she's 81 so I have to go as often as possible.

Hey, we're going to be in Florida at the same time as ufez! (But on the opposite coast.)

We're going on vacation week after next, but other than that we have no real summer plans except trying to restore a little order to our out-of-control front yard. (A process we've already started, actually.)

what is on our calendar for May? A foot of snow atm. It appears that spring got cancelled for the Front Range. Our trees haven't even budded, and all my tulips and daffodils got pounded flat by weekly rounds of 10-12" snowfall for the past six weeks :(

Not big summer plans. Next week we take a week in the Lake Tahoe area with my husband's favorite sister and her husband. Then my brother and his wife come to visit us for a few days in early June. Other than that, we'll be enjoying being here in the Seattle area for what I hope is another lovely summer. In September I have a business trip, with my husband coming along, on the Big Island in Hawaii.

There's a little trip to hometown scheduled for Memorial Day weekend.

In July/August I'll be doing another epic road trip to Florida. Don't know if I'll be taking the northern route (BitterOldPunk/elizard) or southern route (ColdChef).

My first trip to California! My first couchsurfing experience! A bit of airbnb as well.

Staying in Santa Monica and seeing LA Ri-ettes all star roller derby on Saturday 18th May. My first banked track bout!

Then on to Santa Rosa where a lovely Mefite has offered to lend me a bicycle to ride around the beautiful scenery! Vineyards, redwoods and Russian River Brewing Co.

San Francisco for five days from the 25th, staying in Mission Dolores. Going to Audium on Saturday evening.

Fly over to New York for a school friend's wedding in Brooklyn and then five days in Manhattan. Visit JCR percussion for as many cowbells as I can carry!

Then get back to the UK for my sister's birthday and hopefully the British summer will have started.
