Congratulations to danf!!!!!! →[More:] danf, I offer my sincere admiration and congratulations on the occasion of your retirement. Over the course of your 32 year career you no doubt accomplished many things, earned the respect of your colleagues, and made significant contributions to your organization.

I'm excited for you (and very envious) as you move ahead into the next phase of your life. I hope it is filled with joy, passion, discovery, and many great experiences.

Even though I have no authority to do so, I hereby proclaim today, April 30, as
METACHAT danf DAY, for now and forever.

Thank you. In an hour, a party-ish thing then walking down the street to one of the local microbrews -- my wife will show up and she's taking me to dinner afterwards. . .it feels very strange but I have planned for this day.

Tomorrow night, my last assignment, a speech to the school board and my boss promises to embarrass me in front of them. . .

So am I sleeping in tomorrow? Nope. . .early volleyball, as usual, but will be able to stay the whole time, which has not been the case.
