Fabulous. Much as I hate everything churches stand for, I do love church architecture, new or old.

Only buildings of grandeur can use space in such a beautiful, but wasteful, manner.

In the secularised country of the Netherlands I wonder what today's structures of grandeur are.
Since there's a plethora of now useless churches every where.

They missed out Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral - one of the most stunning 20th Century cathedrals. This is still a subject of great controversy in Liverpool, whose residents think that religious architecture ought to tend towards the Gothic. They prefer the Anglican Cathedral, opened in 1978.

When I visited San Francisco I enjoyed the visual spectacle of driving around the Cathedral of St Mary and seeing the complex surface of the dome change shape with the angle of view.
