What's for lunch? [More:]It's 11.40am here so naturally my thoughts turn to lunch. I'm having leftover green chilli in a wrap, which will be excellent but would be still more excellent had I not run out of sour cream and guacamole.

This will be followed by an apple and maybe some chocolate.

What are you planning to eat? Doesn't have to be lunch...
We are having fried chicken for dinner! Once in awhile we pick up fried chicken from my favorite farm stand market. Tonight I'm having friends and my brother and his girlfriend over. I'll make asparagus and fresh peas and these great crunchy-outside creamy inside roasted red potatoes, and maybe a strawberry-rhubarb crisp for dessert.

As for lunch ... I'll eat a few bites of this and that, whatever is left over that looks appealing.

I just had lunch with a friend at a local cafe. A cheese omelet followed by a slice of lemon cake. So, a very yellow lunch.

I just ate a large bagel -- coworker brought in a bag to celebrate Friday. I have two bananas that need to be eaten today before they get too ripe. I also have a little container of strawberry greek yogurt, maybe I won't eat that until tomorrow. For lunch I'll probably go home and make a burrito. For dinner I will have a grilled cheese sandwich. mmmmmmm

Lunch will be a mini bagel with smoked whitefish salad and a bowl of raspberries and greek yogurt. I'm going through our refrigerator trying to finish stuff off before it expires :)

Just finished breakfast. I had some nuked pot pie (the one I mentioned on HM that had lima beans put in it!). Tasty, if a bit average. But still, having to pick out the lima beans is some bullshit.

Just had breakfast. Sliced up some leftover chicken, put it on some bread, put some cheese and garlic sauce on top, put the whole thing in the toaster oven.

Just polished off an orange, now I'm going to dig into the salad and hummus with carrot chips, then finish with with grapes.

This being Friday Pizza Night, I will be having hot chicken wings, with my weekly vice indulgence of Pepsi.

Leftover potato soup with goldfish crackers!

I made this soup on Sunday.

Spicy tomato bisque

Ingredients:
1 28oz can no-salt tomatoes
1/2 cup diced onion
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons MatoZest
1 cup carrot juice
3 each sun dried tomatoes (not oil packed, just dried w/o sulfur)
3 tablespoons cashew butter (or 1/3 cup cashews)

Instructions:
Water sautee onion over medium heat until softened. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking & stirring until fragrant. Add tomaotes, MatoZest, carrot juice and sundried tomatoes. Bring to a low boil and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and carefully pour into VitaMix. Blend on low speed, letting steam escape as necessary. Gradually increase speed to medium and add in cashew butter. Blend until combined. Return to stove, bring back to low simmer, then serve.


I'm putting about half a bag of tasty mixed frozen veggies in a bowl, pouring my soup mix over it, heating well, and chowing down.
