Every day is dog appreciation day in the Ant household.
This is Kenda, our four year old probably-Border-Collie mutt that we adopted from the Humane Society. She is my hiking buddy; we've covered many hundreds (maybe thousands) of miles in the backcountry of the Smoky Mountains together.
And here's Maeby, the spoils of the aforementioned hiking trips. In January Kenda and I found her way deep in the woods, a lost bear hunting dog (for sure - she was wearing a dead radio tracking collar.) She was sick and very hungry. We were unable to find her owner so she lives with us now. And she's awesome.
I love your dogs, workerant. I've encountered too many lost/abandoned hunting dogs around here that have been rescued and it always seems so jarringly callous.
ethylene: best I've got right now, but have at it:
Half my pics of Drum are of his belly. He loooooves laying on his back with his feet (and balls) in the air! Knock yourself out trying to paint his belly!
For those that don't know the story oh how I ended up with my puppy....
About a year ago my younger brother rang me from Sydney and asked if I could take care of this abused doggie who was about to be taken to be put down since his owner didn't want him (the owner is an ice addict and cares about little else).
I said of course I would look after him and if he didn't get on with my young son then I would find him a lovely home anyway.
He's taken a fair bit of work - he was terribly out of condition and cranky, but now he's settled in and gets on with EM very well. He can run and jump! He gets on well with the other little dogs in the street. He's a delight and very loving little guy and it makes me happy to give him a safe and fun home.
What I would need is a reasonably high detail, color photo of a directly facing view dog's belly from at least ribcage down, optimally with legs fully splayed or at least mostly out of the way of the belly. I can mock up an image if that is not descriptive enough.
Gomi, from the looks of it, your pup may be an exceptional model for what I'm looking for.
This may be a good time to crank this project out.
