Yes, they are and I had a brain fart because I was thinking about how the 2nd Ave subway was coming along when I was reading this article.

What amazes me is all of the excavation done in the past century or so with no workplace protection laws. I mean, with labor and human life pretty cheap back then, it was probably easier in a way. But the modern machines are just awesome!

Wow, that is quite an undertaking. It'll be brilliant when it's done, it'll take a lot of the strain off the 7 train, which is always packed even out of peak times.

Over here we have Crossrail, with new tunnels and stations being dug out. It will be so great when it's finished and I can take a train from Stratford all the way to Heathrow and get there in 45 minutes.

Engineers are awesome.
