Music to drive former DJs insane, or what I call Lipstick Bubblegum: Bullet - White Lies, Blue Eyes, Cymarron - Rings, Glass Bottle - Ain't Got Time Any More, White Plains - My Baby Loves Lovin', Lobo - I'd Love You To Want Me, The Bells - Stay Awhile [More:]

Was there only one high school photographer in the mid-70s?
I love all these. I will add one more: The First Class -- Beach Baby.

Love that White Plains song. Haven't heard it in ages. Tony Burrows, the guy singing lead vocals on that song also does the lead vocals on the song JanetLand links to, "Beach Baby". He's also the lead vocalist on "Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes" by Edison Lighthouse. I'm a sucker for good bubblegum and 70's AM radio soft rock.

I've never heard that Bullet song before, but I've played it twice already.

It's like this post is coming from inside my head.

Beach Baby definitely fits. However, if you include that then you must also toss in Magic by Pilot.

I absolutely love the entire first Pilot album and am pretty fond of the second and third as well. Damn fine pop music. I always get a little bummed when people call that stuff "guilty pleasures".

I'll take 'guilty pleasure' over 'forgotten & ignored'. 3 million youtube hits for Magic is impressive.

I try to avoid the phrase "guilty pleasures." I understand that it is supposed to be tongue-in-cheek (though in an only-half-joking sort of way), but I feel it implies that a) I should feel bad about liking that music; and b) I'm trying to head off someone else's negative judgments about that music (and about me?) by minimizing my own affinity for it. Musical taste is so subjective anyway. I love what I love. ABBA! KISS! SESAME STREET SONGS! etc.

One of my photos is on Gothamist! I've hit the big time! || After a lengthy silence,
