So he got the job [More:] My son's externship at the pharmacy ended last week. They had him fill out an application and he "flunked" the personality profile, I think mostly because he sees shades of gray where they wanted black and white. The store smoothed that over and late last week had him take the drug test.

Yesterday morning they called him and said he passed his drug test and asked if he could start at 1 pm. He's worked two days so far and already has 19 hours worked, despite not being "on the schedule." (The store is still short of pharmacy techs even though they hired him.)

So far, so good.
Yay!

... and congratulations, too.

Oh man that's so great!!!! I actually had him in a small corner of my thoughts, so it's nice to be able to make that corner a happy warm spot. And, hey congrats to you on the achievement you have made as well (I'm not a parent, so I can't quite put it into words, but I think you done good.)

It's good to know you're allowed to acknowledge grey areas if you can pass a drug test. Ah, America.

This is great news. A successful feeling for both of you. And Mrs. Doohickie also no doubt. A nice start to the new year!

Those employment personality tests are comically ridiculous. Glad that wasn't a dealbreaker. Congratulations.

That's awesome. Took me awhile to find my niche, too (I was 36 when I started teaching). And I'm into my 11th year at my job now (never stayed more than six months at a job before -- my family had lost hope). Course, in my case, desperation really helped with the "stick-with-it-ness."
