I was introduced tp the concept of a carvery which struck me as very akin to a deli or the type of kitchen shop described in Peyps's journals. Sit down formal public restaurants are an odd artifact of the French Revolution if my reading is correct.
First things first, you really do have to send postcards to mecha people. After that, you can find all the fun things to do. There's gotta be a mechazen or mefite who live there who can show you around. Have you posted in IRL for a meetup? I bet folks would love to meet you, Whelkie-poo. You're famous on the intertoobs!

I bet you can still go to Trinity College though and see the Book of Kells and then there's this tour, which sounds fun as hell. Here's a map for a self guided version. I swear I saw another self guided version somewhere online not long ago that looked even better but I can't find it now.
Take the bus to the hill of Tara.
