December Musical Gifstravaganza, Day 13 I usually post older music, but this 2010 album is a new classic in my house.→[More:]

Today's selection is Angels from the Realms of Glory from Annie Lennox's album A Christmas Cornucopia. This song is notable in that it is sung to the (approximate) tune of the carol Angels We Have Heard on High, and blends the first three verses of Angels from the Realms of Glory with the familiar refrain Gloria in Excelsis Deo!

I love Annie Lennox. All through her career she has been awesome. This will go on my Christmas playlist forever. I haven't heard this one. I WANT MORE!!!

Thanks for reminding me about this album! I think it was an NPR top holiday record pic (or something like that) when it was new, and I resolved while driving around to run out and buy it. THen I forgot about it. UNtil today! THanks!
