Do they buy the lunch? I love free lunch. I used to get that a lot and now Im' in a location that never does them :(

they do buy, it's not completely sucky.

if i go to eat with more than 1 or 2 friends for dinner, i usually eat beforehand because i can't eat when i'm out with people. this may explain my holiday anxiety...giant table with 10-15 people all yakking and noisy and stuffing their faces, yuck. today it will be 6 of us.

i like to read while i eat but talk while i drink. :)

How do you keep yourself from drowning? Or at least choking?

(Also, are you a ventriloquist? Do you give lessons?)

haha! in the days before kindle/iphone, i used to read actual paper books while walking to and from school. THAT's a talent.

i survived. we went to a new indian buffet that will not be around long enough to call the old indian buffet. i like indian food and we have several good places here. that was not one of them. ugh.

it's probably worse cause we're all IT people and would rather IM at each other than sit around a table chatting. we were meeting our new sales guy who seems nice but we're def a weird bunch.

I am glad you are safe again. I also generally hated group lunches, and required many days preparation for them. I use the past tense because I am currently unemployed and so my group lunches now are generally with my cat, who does not mind if I read or web surf while eating.

In general, I recommend cats as co-workers for the introverted.

i am moving this weekend to a place that lets me have cats with NO EXTRA CHARGE.

i am so excited to be able to have cats again.

i haven't had my own cat in like 10 years.

hopefully my new fuzzy friend will also not mind my reading while eating habits.


i'm glad it's not just me that hates these things. and we're having a christmas party this year....at least there will be alcohol.....

I suspect your new cat(s) will be fine with your reading habits, but in order to be sure, you should post their photos when they are finalized. Only in this way will we be able to ensure your safety.

And I have lived without a cat for over a decade now and I feel your pain. If my husband had disclosed that he was allergic when we started dating, my life may have gone a completely different way...

once i have kitties, there will definitely be pictures!!!

i'm going to get shelter kitties and am every excited to see which ones pick me out.
i'm gonna get two because you know, they have a friend and they are much funnier together.

also, i like that posting their pics ensures the magic that will allow them to make me safe.

I hate group lunches because I like to enjoy my food. For me that means eating like a slob.
