Tuesday 3-point hopes [More:]
1. I hope everyone who wants to has been able to vote today. I value my right to vote, as it was hard-won for women in the UK - women died so I can vote.

2. I hope all the bunnies affected by Sandy are doing okay. I know things are still very, very difficult for many people in the north east of the USA, but I hope all our MeCha peeps have shelter, power and food and that their homes are safe and secure. My heart goes out to everyone who's lost their home, their belongings or their peace of mind.

3. I hope all the babies are thriving. It's been so wonderful to have three MeCha babies born this year, all to dear friends, and I hope my plans to meet them all in March next year come to pass.

What are your hopes today?
1. I hope that I can stay up lateish watching the returns. I did that for the last election and it was fun, up to a certain point. I have alcohol this year though, so that should help.

2. I hope that I can get this paper submitted to my fire person by Thursday when we go to the spa. I know that it will likely make my sister feel bad (who is really struggling with her assignment), but I'm anxious to move on, especially considering a dream I had.

3. I hope I can actually get some writing on said paper tonight instead of just refreshing the Mefi thread.

1. I hope all my friends get their power back on tomorrow.
2. I hope this new storm doesn't knock anyone's power out again.
3. I hope my connections between churches will allow willing volunteers from Pennsylvania to come here and help rebuild neighborhoods decimated by Hurricane Sandy. I only wish I could do more.

seconding Splunge. I'm too nervous to think of anything else. Except my glass of wine. And my champagne in the fridge for celebration or sorrow-drowning.

1. I'm with everyone else in hoping that power and water are being restored in the northeast in a timely fashion, and the basic necessity of shelter ceases to be of such pressing concern.

2. A special bottle of chianti is about to get cracked open to drink during the election returns. I will drink out of joy or sorrow tonight, but I will drink either way. Gaspode, I hear you!

3. My dearest hope for these elections is that marriage equality measures on the ballot in the different states pass! I have very strong feelings about this.

1. Same as Senyar's 1 and 2 and 3.

2. My bro and sis-in-law still don't have power, and I hope they get it back soon. They do have hot water and heat (they somehow got the electric starter on the furnace to work /shrug). There's no ETA on when power will be back on, but I know they're in better shape that lots of people and I'm thankful for that.

3. Thirding splunge. (I have CNN on and want Wolf to quit yelling. He always yells. Why does he not lose his voice?!)

ObamaObamaObamaObamaObama....

(and gas -- the trains took me an hour forty minutes this morning to get to work; considering staying home tomorrow so I can find some gas, especially with another rain storm coming in; and TV would be nice -- it's killing me not watching the election results, but we've been checking in with the digital NYT; I've been keeping my own electoral vote count -- Ohio and Florida and Obama's got it, but Florida's tight; it would be a lot closer without Florida)

1. I hope everyone hit by Sandy has all of the necessary things soon.

2. Yay, Obama! That was quite the victory speech.

3. Arkansas almost passed a medical marijuana thing. Like, missed it by a very small margin. That's a big deal, even though the side I was rooting for lost.

1. A week ago Monday was supposed to be my first day back in the office full-time after maternity leave. Here's how that went:
-Last Monday & Tuesday, work closed for storm
-Wednesday-Friday, work at home due to baby not having daycare
-Monday, full day at the office, baby's daycare still closed.
-Tuesday, holiday for Election Day, baby daycare open but only until 4
-Today, work until 3 when power in building goes out. At least I'll be home to meet the baby!
Quite difficult to get back into the swing of things! Weather, be good. Daycare, be open the proper hours.

2. Being back to work has me brain-dead. I don't regularly consume caffeine but I may need to start. Will be trying out some green tea to see if I can find something good.

3. I spent part of my morning harassing a crazy blogger on Twitter and, I can't lie, it was pretty fun.

Virtually every hope except faint one for blue House of Reps realized.

I love yours, Senyar.
