Hair, London 1968 - Aquarius, Black Boys/White Boys, Hair, Ain't Got No/I Got Life (Nina Simone live in London '68), Tim Curry (french interview), Aquarius (video compilation)
Fabulous, thanks Ardiril. I was 9 years old when Hair! opened in London and I remember the outrage from the Establishment and the ignorant, and I also remember the wonderful music which was on the radio all the time.

I went to the first and last nights of the recent London revival of Hair! At the opening night I sat near James Rado, and at the closing night I danced on stage with the cast as we all sang "Let The Sun Shine". And last Friday I sang "Good Morning Starshine" at the piano bar.

I also had a massive crush on Oliver Tobias when I was about 12. He was in a TV show called "Arthur of the Britons", and he was, er, rather beautiful.

Of course Tim Curry speaks French.

Didn't make an absolute killing in the 80s London Real estate market or something?

Why did they screw with the tempo so much? It sounds bizarre. I'm so used to the American cast recording (which I love). This sounds oddly draggy.

London may have followed the original production notes. RCA released an off-Broadway original cast recording in 1967 that is much more raw sounding than the subsequent Broadway cast record, and many of the songs are paced slower.
