The always-interesting Gin and Tacos blog has a great post about this video.

thanks for that Gin and Tacos post, BP, it is useful and something to think on. I hope people don't dismiss it as being white-privileged apologia or dismissive of the problem. It IS a problem, a huge problem, and one I grew up with as a kid in a very backwards region of the country. It takes having these sorts of open, uncomfortable admissions in order to help further understanding of where so much of the ongoing, pervasive discrimination that continues to this day is coming from.

I love Jann Arden; read her autobio if you get a chance.

Oh for crying out loud, why does an anchorwoman owe it to the community to be at a certain weight and to "set an example"?

FYI, that anchorwoman is the sister of Ron Livingston of Office Space (and also from Cedar Rapids like my husband).

yeah Orange Swan I didn't quite listen with full attention when I saw it but I think she kinda sitestepped the question a bit she should have dismantled that idea too
