I've previously thought of Zuckerberg's management style as Neronian, but in light of that link, I may have to modify that to Caligulan.
I wouldn't doubt that the people who were cut down by the Praetorian Guard during Caligula's excursions because the Emperor didn't tell the Guard not to in their particular case also blamed themselves for failing to please their 'god' as they tried to stuff their guts back into their abdomens.
ha. I don't know if this post reveals much about Zuck's style; he seemed to have been hiring and firing really quickly in the early days but I'd probably do the same. For me this was more worthwhile as an insight into emotional resilience ... the whole "getting fired from fb" thing was a major deal in his life and looking back he kinda realizes that he shouldn't have tied his identity up in the company that much
Also, that the OP's a bit of a douche because when I looked at some of his other articles, he writes that "The Fountainhead" is one of the most influential, must-read books in his life.
Whether or not this guy is a jerk, I still feel bad for him. The machine that is capitalism ground him down and spit him out. And there's some irony in it, at least for me. This is the thing that is supposed to be about connecting people, community, in a sense, and I have no doubt that the company fostered that kind of unhealthy attachment to the brand, to the company itself, as long as they were getting what they wanted. I could say that of many of the tech companies where I know people are employed. 99% of the people I know have fallen for it, and if they don't fall for it they usually don't remain employees for long. Kind of a damned if you do and damned if you don't.
