Gone for Awhile We are leaving on a road trip →[More:]to Shasta-SF-Ojai-Hermosa Beach to see friends and family.

But will not have a computer with us (since insurance $$$ has not come through yet) so I will not be around much, if at all.

Back in about 10 days.

Actually yes, I'll wave as I pass through. You're more near Morro Bay, right?

I want to go down CA 1 from SF to Santa Cruz then jump over to 101. I have not been in Santa Cruz in about 25 years. But checking out Steamers would be fun.

Nope, South of SLO, North of Pismo, as you drive south you'll see the "Hillcrest Ranch" sign and ask yourself "does the foop really live on a ranch?" to which I will reply "not really and nobody, including the last two owners, know where the name came from". So you could theoretically get right off 101 onto the frontage road and stop by... I have no room in my furnished hovel for guests, but a front porch with chairs and root beer in the fridge - it's the back of the building right behind the sign and the mailboxes.

I haven't been back to Cali since 1994. Seems weird not to have visited the land of my birth in such a long time.
