This was my desktop background for a number of years. I was impressed how crisp and almost stock photo-y it turned out despite being taken from a tour boat with a fairly basic point-and-shoot digicam.

Also -- not a lone figure, and not technically a landscape, but I've always been amused by the synchronicity of this shot from the same trip (it's inside the Guggenheim Museum):
