Help with iTunes & iPhone. I downloaded a ringtone from the iTunes store on my iPhone. I then plugged my iPhone into my computer to charge it. The ringtone is now on my computer's iTunes, in the Tones category, but has disappeared from my phone. Help?

Well, it depends. What does the ringtone sound like? The truth is, I have no idea how to fix this but I still want to hear the ringtone. Please?

Don't know how to link to iTunes. It was "Pretty zen bells" on there.

If you just have one computer, onto which you sync your iPhone, you should be able to drag the tone over to the left, where you iPhone is listed in the libraries.

But never bought a tone, so not sure. But try it.

Actually, it might have worked if I had been more patient. When I checked the library on the iPhone, it showed the file twice, but one file had the exclamation point in front of it indicating the file was corrupt or lost, and one had a "copying" symbol but never seemed to finish copying.

The Itunes store people are surprisingly helpful on issues like this. I'd drop them a line.

Also, this discussion in the Apple support forums seems right on point.

I somehow now have it in both places, but I will check the suggestions in that discussion the next time I hook the iPhone to the computer. Thanks!

Aaaand it disappeared from my phone again. After more searching, found a tip to rename the ringtone in iTunes in some way (change the artist name, album name, etc.) and then resynch. Which worked. Yay!
