Stressy AskMe Posts! Lost cats! Door won't open!→[More:]There are some AskMe threads that just make me anxious. Not just the really sad ones (Is my relationship dead? My mother is depressed and she won't get help, etc).

But there's something about the real-time ones -- even if the crisis is minimal -- that just makes me really worried, and yet compelled to click to see what happened.

Am I alone here?

I don't read AskMe but lost cat and dog posters depress the hell out of me. I've gotten where I won't even look at them because they stay with me for ages.

The first thing I did this morning was check to see if k8t's cat had turned up.

My favourite real-time AskMe is the one about the cockroaches in the microwave which was funny, not sad.

I care about your pipe. Good plumbers are harder to find than lost cats. Also, I could fix that guy's door but not in words.

I get more upset about people whose lives are seemingly falling apart but they're looking at it from the wrong angle and there's no way to explain this to them in a few short paragraphs.
