"Once I Had A Love" was a song that the band Blondie eventually turned into one of their biggest hits, "Heart of Glass" in 1979. I like the finished version more than the earlier version, but that may just be because "Heart of Glass" was so ubiquitous on the radio while I was growing up.
I want to hear David Byrne cover this.

I didn't know the video for the song was actually shot inside Studio 54.

I was in Köln that spring with a group of exchange students from Penn State. I had taken a cassette with Parallel Lines on one side and Heaven Tonight on the other. "Heart Of Glass" was a huge hit there.

First album I ever got. This isn't that different from the finished version! A little more arty/rough in the production, which I like.

I prefer the finished version, but I've been to too many Blondie concerts (relative-in-law is in the band).
