Ordinarily I'd turn my nose up at that menu but after two weeks in Ohio, where I had the opportunity to sample various kinds of fair food, that's looking pretty appetising to me.

That. Looks. GREAT. And there's quite a lot of balance to it: you could gorge on deep-fried sugar bombs (and I am not, repeat, not turning up my nose at that occasionally attractive option), but I could cheerfully have the deep-fried avocado and a plate of tabouli as dinner tonight. Yum!

Looking at online menus for places I'll never, ever get to set foot in is easily one of the greatest pleasures the internet affords me. Thanks for posting this, jason's_planet!)

Wow! Deep fried cereal!

(Why, thank you!)

I'm pretty partial to the deep-fried PBJ, myself.

I would try just about all of that with the exception of the frogs legs. The fried avocado looks great.

Zucchini nachos seem like a good idea, and, if anything, a nutritional improvement over regular nachos.

The only things that appealed to me were the zucchini nachos and the frogs legs. I love me some frog. So much more tender and juicy than chicken and much leaner!

Frog congee is my favourite though.

I've been eating more or less healthy for the past few months but we went to a soul food restaurant this weekend [in VT! Who knew?] and they had deep fried moon pies on the menu. Jim had one and I had a few bites and MAN, it was a whole new mouthfeel experience. I'm sure eating the whole thing would have caused some sort of instant stroke but it was delicious.

Ever heard a story about abandoned convenience stores prior to 9-11? || Tiny Pencil Carvings
