Cross-stitching, like tattoos, should never include names This morning at Value Village I saw a cross-stitch depicting pink roses and ribbons and blue birds and featuring the words, "James and Amy, United in Love August 16, 2003." Do you suppose James and Amy got tired of the cross-stitch or that they are no longer united in love?
How big was it? Maybe they were just tired of having it take up space in their closet. Or, yeah, I suppose they could be over.

About 10" x 14". It may have been a wedding present they decided they could now safely get rid of.

Maybe they died.

Maybe they moved on to tattoos.

When I was married, my husband's sister went to one of those pottery places and made a "family" pot that had everybody's name on it, including all the in-laws like me. I often wonder what happened to it. Did they glaze me out?

James was killed by a falling jar of pickles at Sam's Club and Amy used the settlement money to move to Vancouver island to study shamanism.

It's actually a coded message planted by a sleeper cell. All will be clear soon.

In a far corner of my storage shed (it really is an 8"X6" shed sitting right next to my apartment - the rear unit of a triplex), there is a cross-stitch my now-ex and I received as a wedding present from one of her friends with the exact same wording, but our names and the date "June 21, 1986"... OH CRAP... today would've been our 26th Anniversary... NO thanks for reminding me...I mean, I don't HAVE to remember the Anniversary anymore, do I?

It was a gift from James's uncle Bob for their wedding. Amy always felt weird around Bob and James, after some psychotherapy, stopped defending him when Amy suggested she didn't want him around. Agreeing to get rid of this cross-stitch brought them closer together and may have saved the marriage. On their anniversary, Amy bought James a replacement cross-stitch of swans.

That must be the world's smallest shed!
