20 June 2012

I totally would.

I would at least try. Probably flattening the end a bit into an oval is all that is needed.
posted by Ardiril 20 June | 12:11
Yes, would definitely try.

Those last few seconds are a skunk going WTF?!
posted by Ardiril 20 June | 12:40
Why not? Grip it right behind the head if you're worried about getting bitten. Toss snake away into some soft underbrush when done.

People got 'em into this mess; it's people's job to get 'em out.

Seriously. If you even have to think about this, I want you off my planet.
posted by Eideteker 20 June | 13:08
Even me? Curled-up belts make me nervous, let alone snakes.

I might go tell someone about it, though.

I'd help if I could.
posted by arse_hat 20 June | 15:04
IF I didn't think it was venomous and AFTER I stopped laughing, yes.
posted by bearwife 20 June | 16:03
I'd help it.

Madamina - telling someone about it (someone who can help) is helping. :)

I'm conflicted and it depends somewhat on the location. If it's in my backyard, my default view is that the only good snake is a dead snake. In the wild, sure, I'd help it if I could.

It's a scary thing to confront but, by all means, you, I would do what it takes to help,
posted by MonkeyButter 20 June | 17:31
Yes, I'd help it, after I'd first taken a photo of it, of course.
posted by Senyar 20 June | 19:04
I would also call someone more qualified than I to help the poor thing get its head out of the can.
posted by TrishaLynn 20 June | 19:29
Yes, of course.

No.

Well, maybe if it were a big python or something (ie harmless), but a native snake? Fuck no.

Sorry Eideteker, but I was pretty well trained in primary school to be scared as all fuck of snakes. You stay on your half of the planet, and I'll stay on mine.

Truth be told, yes, I was mainly aiming that at my bloody poncy fellow Americans. Man up, U.S. Even Canada is laughing at you. CANADA.

I would certainly help it. And after I did I would look it squarely in the eye and say, "Today is not your day to die, my friend. Go in peace." And the snake would go on to tell the story of the pink biped that saved it from a terrible fate. And snakes would pass the story on. Until no snake ever bit a human again. Snakes and humans would live in peace forever more. And when the alien reptiles came to conquer Earth, the snakes would tell them to leave the humans alone. And of course, the reptilian aliens would respect their terrestrial cousins.

And that's how I saved the world from an alien invasion.

Deal.
