U.S. bunnies or bunnies who have visited the States, share your visited states map in this thread. [More:]I like the breakdown of "levels of familiarity" it gives you... one of my best friends is a truck driver and has visited all 48 contiguous states, but I don't think he really knows much about any outside of the southeast. This gives a nice shading from "seen it" to "know it well."

This is a good place to mention the Denny's 50 State Challenge. FREE GRAND SLAMS FOR LIIIIIIIIIFE.

TPS, I suddenly have a new goal in life.

And we shall support you in that goal! You could have Denny's meetups around the country.

I guess that I've pretty much missed all the middle states. I'm not much of a traveler.

I have a few left.

Sorry, Yanks.

I didn't count any airline layovers. If I did, I could have added Texas, Colorado, Arizona and Missouri.

I definitely think airline layovers don't count. Ugh! airports. Layovers always frustrate me because you know that just a little way away is something new and cool to do, but you can't risk going. Starbucks in San Diego looks a lot like Starbucks in Altoona.

And the only reasons this homebody has that many states is ALA and university interviews.

There's no Starbucks within twenty miles of Altoona PA. Sheetz though.

Mine has a stupid little story that goes along with it. Nebraska was actually the last US state for me to visit.

I've been in all of the lower 48.

Flickr has changed on me. It's there and I'm too tired of yahoo to figure it out right now.

Mostly comes from a trip I made in my youth with a 30-day Greyhound Ameripass allowing unlimited travel on Greyhound buses. Was so long ago there's some guesswork though, though I must have between from the states I remember by some route or other...

The entire left half except for Arkansas, and California.

Red states are just ones in which I made airport connections. Nevada, just drove through the lower corner on way from AZ to CA.

Green states are the states I've lived in. Funny how I keep missing Utah.

I have flown over all the white states while awake, in a window seat, with clear visibility and during daytime, except for Oregon (only at night).
posted by Ardiril 08 June | 23:53
Well, not Alaska or Hawaii, at all.

I did however smoke a joint while flying over Greenland in 1979. It was the basic Columbian Gold of the time with some Thai stick mixed in. I ate the roach in case the captain came back to investigate. He did.
