AskMeCha: What can I do with this dip? [More:]I made some dip on Sunday out of cream cheese and a dry mix of garlic, chives, onion, and parsley. While it is tasty on crackers, I would like to use up this dip in other ways. Can I put it on chicken? Or pork? Or something?

I like fairly plain food. Could I put it on noodles maybe?

Hope me plz!
Use it as a spread on a sandwich?

Can I put it on chicken?

You can definitely stuff chicken with it. Take a boneless chicken breast, lay it flat and slice into it sideways, but not all the way through - goal is to get it to open like a book (butterflied). Put a dollop of your cheese in the center of one half, and spread it a little, not to the edges but close. It would also be delicious to add some veggies here - yo could use fresh baby spinach, a few leaves, or some frozen chopped spinach, as one idea. Sundried tomatoes might be good too. Or a basil leaf or some pesto from the store. You can improvise. Then, just close the chicken breast again. You can start by searing it in a pan in olive oil for a couple minutes on each side to brown it, then pop it into the oven to finish cooking at 350.

It's a delicious way to make plain chicken a little special. You can also do this same procedure with goat cheese, or bread stuffing, and you can vary the flavors in a lot of ways. It's good with just rice and broccoli or Brussels sprouts or salad for dinner.

Other thoughts - you can add some nuts and spread it in celery sticks, like classic stuffed celery. IT would probably still make a fabulous bagel spread. You could mix up a homemade mac and cheese with this as one of two or more cheeses (you need to add another cheese with more structure, like cheddar or jack, to make a good casserole of it, though). You could make savory muffins, such as corn muffins, and put a small dollop of the cheese mixture in each muffin. Just pour half the batter into the muffin tin cup, add the dollop, and pour the rest of the batter to fill the cup. One of my coffeehouses locally does this to make muffins, and they're especially great breakfasts. They sometimes top them with pepitas, which puts 'em right over the top.
