had some grown saudi guy try rubbing against me when I was a child too. I don't think I recognized it was sexual per se it was just very bizarre and harass-y to me (nothing happened though). huge problem in that area I think all the way from the mideast to af/pak
haha, Eid, I'm so sorry man, but that's the story of my life... bipolars actually... we start off at one place, and we never really know where we're going to end up.
You know what post I was trying to make when I ended up making that one--WOMEN, and their journey to the Olympics--they were just showing it on Stat Sports or ESPN, and I thought it would be good for Metafilter, and then I ran into the cartoon for women in SA not being allowed to drive (still) and how the blogger was doing her best to fight against it... and I figured I'd make a post about it as soon as I finished my Mefi one...
Well, that one never did end up getting off the ground--I couldn't find the links that I wanted, so I thought I'd dedicate my self to this... not realizing how NSFW-ish it sounded--I'd just spent the whole night trying to look up women who had to fight injustice in sport, and then ran into this... so was obviously going to give these guys good.
I wasn't sure about adding the other stuff about when I was a kid, but figured it would be a good way for me to judge how others would react to it when I ended up putting it in my book, but after reading Eid's response, I was afraid I'd made a mistake.
Firas, you don't say, man--I think this is a real problem over there... don't know how it is now though, but back then, yeah--this guy would be all over me, every time I'd be home from school... and it'd be okay if it was just that once, but then it'd become a pattern, and finally he ended up following me upstairs and dropping his (what I said was a pant before, but since when do Saudis wear pants) Thawb, or his pajama at least, it starded to become a problem.
Of course, his best friends who lived next door, had a father who'd take out his glorious birds to the desert every Friday (Falcons and Eagles and I have no idea what else) but he'd let me pet them every time... nice man that he was.
