It's suddenly turned amazing here in the UK: last week it was cold and unpleasant, since Monday it's been 25 degrees and bright sunshine (I can't be bothered to translate into Fahrenheit, sorry).

It can't last. But I still just bought a linen dress and had half my hair cut off :)

It's been mostly gorgeous here since March. I feel like we're living in Hawaii.

It's 85F right now in NC. You can have summer.

It was gray & foggy this morning, but it burned off and now it is sunny! Yay! It's been gray for so long.

Got a nice dose of summer, for a week each, in Orlando and Puerto Vallarta. It is currently 63 degrees and clear here in Seattle, with a high of 70 hoped for tomorrow. It feels like what it is . . . late spring.

We had quite a bit of nice weather (sun, mid 70s F), then lots of cold rain, and now it's nice again. I prefer nice, but you can keep andy temps over mid 70s.

And humid in NC. With thunderstorms. And tourists here at the coast.

I love summer weather.

I love summer clothes.

I love summer fruit.

I love summer BBQ's and swimming pools and summer daylight until 9pm.

I love summer vacations and summer concerts and summer farmers markets.

I love summer flowers and summer early mornings and summer bare feet.

I love summer thunderstorms and summer picnics and summer parties.

I love wearing the same 2 pairs of shorts all summer. I love wearing flip flops.

I love seeing my kid's cute summer pale bottom while the rest of him is tan in spite of sunscreen. I love how his blond hair turns almost white from the sun.

I love summer car rides with all the windows down. I love summer visitors who come to us all relaxed and happy and looking for a fun time.

I love summer drinks. Everything tastes better outside, in the summertime.

I love summer.

I hate summer. Sticky and hot. I get headaches. I become a shut-in. Blergh.

I love summer too! A lot! I love it! A lot!

Lots of people in New England complain about summer. Not me. Bring it on.

Summer is the worst. Sweaty, mosquitoes, sweaty... the only good part of summer is that fall is right around the corner. Bring on winter with fires and hot chocolate.

There's a reason hell is suppose to be hot...

I'm with justgary here. I have fair skin so I have to stay covered up, I hate the heat, I get headaches, I loathe having to take public transport in hot weather (no air-con on the tube, trains or buses in the UK), and I get all distressed like a puppy that's been shut in a car.

Today is hot, but I am having to bake things for tonight's party. Gah!

Roll on winter.

I really don't miss London in hot weather (though lounging in one of the big parks is nice). Here in the provinces where I can a) walk to work where there is air-conditioning and b) afford a garden, though, it's nice :)

I grew up in NYC, and soooo do not miss it in the summer. Down here in NC it's technically hotter, but I am surrounded by trees outside, and a/c inside everywhere. I still don't like the heat (dog needs walkies, and even though she is a black lab mix, insists no matter how hot it is), but at least I don't have to take the subway.

Another heartbreakingly beautiful day today. Everything is so green and lush, or colorful and lush. We've had abundant rain and warm warm weather and it looks like it's a month later on than it really is. I got a new bike and was spinning along the roads in my new towns over the last few days, feeling so good and free. The windows are all open, the smells are all good. Our garden is bustin' out all over and we'll soon be eating the best food on earth, fresh garden food. We have a couple nice weekend getaways to lovely places coming up. I love not having to wear layers of armor to go outdoors, not having to retreat inside. We had cheese and crackers on the porch this evening before dinner, reading our books. Today was a really warm one, and we pulled the fans down from the attic and get to sleep to their soothing music. That does mean we won't hear our hundreds-of-birds chorus as well tomorrow morning, but it'll be OK. Not all nights will be this warm.

I need to get a tube of sunscreen, as I got red today.

This is the good life, what I wait all year to experience.

Well, I'm ambivalent about summer - I like the long(er) days, I like not having to rug up, particularly in bed, but I'm not keen on the heat from the sun. The temperatures don't really bother me, but the feeling of that radiation burning against my skin makes me uncomfortable. But I like the beach, so go figure. I do like to sit in the shade on a summer afternoon and relax with a cold one, too.

Overall, I prefer the winter, to be honest, because it's lovely and warm during the day and nice and crisp in the evenings, although I don't like the short days (less than 11 hours of sunshine today). Oh that's right, some of you have winters that aren't like a little piece of weather from heaven, don't you? Sorry, didn't mean to gloat ;-)

Here in the tropics the summer is the most wet, humid and draining time when all activities cease in the mid afternoon. Also it's the worst season for all the really nasty mosquito spread diseases like Dengue Fever.
