OMG, so much corporate entropy in that article... "This role is no longer right for me," etc etc crumble into dust.

Also I've never heard of this movie, but it doesn't sound like something I would have liked.

I know a hardcore Edgar Rice Burroughs fan who loved it, but she is the only one I know who did.

I liked John Carter despite a few flaws, as did Michael Moorcock.

The lessons that the studios have decided to learn is that John Carter failed because it wasn't a sequel, and didn't have a big-name star.

I liked the movie quite a bit but the marketing was pretty inept. Maybe if they'd kept the original name of "Princess of Mars" instead of the generic title they went with?

My brother loved it and I believe saw it more than once. But my brother has unapologetically bad taste in most things.
I don't know it from Adam.

I barely heard of it until the jokes about it flopping etc started

Like, I had heard the name, but had literally no idea what the movie was

The mister wants to see it, he's a big fan of the books.
