Support same-sex marriage in Australia? The survey is part of an inquiry into two bills currently before the Australian Parliament that propose to legalise same-sex marriage.[More:]

Question 2 may confuse people, because it asks whether they support one or both bills, without telling anyone what the differences are:

Both bills support legalising same-sex marriage, but the (Mr Bandt) bill also clarifies that religious ministers have the option to not conduct same-sex marriages.

Summary of responses so far.

Hah. It's a bit like sharrows. "here's a sign saying it's ok to take the lane even though it already was." "here's a note saying it would be ok to not marry people, even though it already was."

Authorised celebrants, being ministers of religion, should not be obliged to perform same sex marriages. (Note: authorised celebrants, being ministers of religion, are not currently obliged to perform any marriage)
