The big center diamond is pretty, but I am not a fan of the wideness of the band. Are there other stones all along the band?

Very Art Deco, with an original design, though not something I would want to wear myself. I don't like diamonds, for one thing — they're too flashy.

Meh, it's a'ight. I love a big diamond but something about that ring doesn't do it for me. Maybe it's the reflection of my dislike of Angelina Jolie. I find it hard to believe the ring is really an engagement ring and not just a big publicity stunt.

Amro, we haven't seen your ring. Pictures please!

Angelina's ring is similar to Camilla's (which is a genuine Art Deco ring previously owned by the Queen Mother). I really like that one too, probably more than Angelina's.

George Clooney, are you reading this? Don't surprise me with no Tiffany cathedral setting now.

Wow, that is a similar ring, Senyar.

I thought they weren't going to get married until gay marriage was legal everywhere? What happened to that? Or is this just going to be a long engagement until then?

Sting got married because his kids made him. It's up there with decent reasons to get married.
Gay people have been pretty vocal about not wanting hets to eschew marriage on their behalf.

Senyar, I like Camilla's ring better too, not really sure why. I think Angelina's ring is ok, if she loves it, good for her, but it's not in my taste.
Then again, my favorite engagement ring (of my own) was a cubic zirconia princess cut..Loved that ring.


Does anyone else think that Brad is starting to look like William H. Macy? Or is it just me..

It doesn't look very shiny in that picture, but it's pretty. I work with a lot of attorneys who get huge status rings and some giant diamonds are serious eyesores. That's remarkably understated for such a conspicuous display of wealth.

But! :) I like mine better, which like Camilla's, is actually an antique art deco ring:

All diamonds look alike. One person's synthetic inspires someone else to get a diamond. The only way to discourage diamond purchases is to eschew diamonds entirely. Otherwise, you're just saying diamonds are okay/cool.

I like Camilla's ring! And it was nice that she got to wear the Queen Mum's ring. Queen Elizabeth must be very accepting of her if she was willing to have Camilla wear her mother's ring.
