How Fast Do You Read? Warning: it's an ad for Staples but it seems to work anyway. Brief and amusing at any rate![More:]935 words a minute, yo. *bows*
398 words per minute. And I thought *I* read fast!

440 words per minute. I think of myself as kind of a slow reader, though.

I am very slow. My score was about 300, but I did poorly on the first set of comprehension questions, and perfectly on the second set, because I know my Alice.

"You read 1,393 words per minute." Bwaaaahahahahahha.

497 words per minute when reading alice in wonderland

111 or something when reading something disorienting and strange

I hereby deem this test unreliable

184 wpm on Alice. I'm a dumb.

420 once I turned off the tv. 396 with the tv on.

Two trials, 505 and 710 wpm respectively, with 3/3 correct in both cases.

Nice to be informed of how quickly I could get through The Fountainhead if I ever had to.

1750, 3/3.

I'm a reeeeeally good guesser.

511 for Alice with 12 paragraphs. Much better than the 398 for whatever I read the first time.

396, or 42% faster than most people. I actually got in trouble by a seventh grade substitute teacher for reading fast. We had to do class work of reading a chapter, and when we were done, we were allowed to do homework for another class. I finished reading, then started on my homework. The substitute yanked my homework out from under me, scolding me for not reading the chapter. I told her I did read it/and a classmate informed her that I read fast. She opened the book to the chapter just read and proceeded to quiz me on it - I passed with flying colors. She quietly apologized, and gave me my homework back.

725 words per minute. I did get one question wrong though. I find it nearly impossible to not skim.

771 WPM with 3/3 questions correct.

Mine was pretty much exactly the same as Janetland.

526 wpm. 3/3. Pretty average, as usual.

3/3 correct. "You read 606 words per minute. That makes you 142% faster than the national average"

158 words in a minute 12 seconds. But I was 3/3 on the questions. I'm slow, but thorough.

I seem to have plateaued at 325 words/minute. A little bummed that the "average" college graduate is faster, but they're probably more motivated.

You read 940 words per minute.
That makes you 276% faster than the national average.

Okay I think I had an advantage cause I've read War of The Worlds before (the sample text I got) but My mom never believed me when I said I could read fast and always accused me of "skimming" things and not actually reading. Good to have some actual test to back up Yes, I Can Actually Read Really Quickly, Thank You.
