Project time! We haven't had any mechawide group projects in a long time. I have a proposal:[More:] A three month project, solo or in groups. Think of it like a nanowrimo exercise or an excuse to work on something you have to work on.
Month one: planning, spitballing, brainstorming, networking, organizing, etc.
Month two: execution
Month three: polish and presentation or stage two of execution.

For instance, if you wanted to do a writing project nanowrimo style, you'd make month two your pound out thousands of words a day time. Or if a bunch of people were doing photo essays, they could get the pictures, etc.

I'm thinking April Fool's is a great time to start.

The question is, do you want a theme or do you want teams or do you just want to see what people come up with?
I'm happy to take charge and do the organization if anyone is interested.

Putting teams together could be interesting, a writer and a photographer working with a programmer or web designer, or what have you. Or it's an excuse to do that project you've been putting off, document it, and share.

Email if you want, your interests, your skill set, etc. or post them here.

I'm thinking either writing or podcasting myself. People could post updates on how they are doing, ask for feedback, and there would be a monthly update.
Here's another quick example: Before haircut
Then, I'll come back post haircut. Then maybe I'll dress up and glam it up for the camera. Etc. Blah.
Maybe this will get me to give a crap about how I look once a week or something.

Or a six hour project, 24 hour project day in the life kind of thing, week long project, but any medium.

Now I should shoot my It Gets Better video, but the background is not inspiring. This kitchen does not scream it gets better.

Maybe I should showcase books.

I'm not perky enough for video right now, but I don't know when I'd bother to style my hair again.

Need appropriate music that will violate copyright laws.

Ooh, I can't load it on flickr. Damn. I don't want to stick that on youtube. That's like behind the scenes dvd blooper reel crap.

Not Nearly the News! || Is it me or is a "hit and run" used an awful lot in fictional works?
